The Chumby Whumby

First off, when I first saw this, I thought I was looking as a toy computer (which it probably is). The Chumby is a small clock and internet device, perhaps for those who can’t get enough of the web. Think about it this way — you put the Chumby by your bedside as an alarm clock but you wake up in the middle of the day crazily wanting to go online. That’s where the Chumby comes in. The Chumby has uses touch screen device. The whole gadget’s soft aside from the screen itself. That way, the Chumby could be squeezed where others cannot.

The screen can only display up to 3′5 inches but if you want to surf the nut for fun and the most basic things such as reading news, blogs, RSS feeds, etcetera, the Chumby could be your new best friend. It connects to the internet on a WiFi connection. It also has USB ports so you can connect the Chumby to your computer or iPods to stream songs. By pushing the button at the top of the gizmo, you can access the device’s control panel though when it’s time to wake up, you would have to manually disable the timer of the computer process of the system.

The Chumby boasts 180 kb RAM, along with the speaker, and the monitor among others. Okay, I do think that Chumby’s a cute little thing but $200 a Chumby? If it’s just the Internet you want, then there are other options available to the public. You want to surf the net in the middle of the night, turn on your laptops. Sure, they might be as handy as the Chumby, but you know quite well they’ll last longer. In the end, you have to think about whether buying a Chumby would be practical. I believe I can live without a Chumby so I leave all the buying to everyone else.
